According to ТСН: Ghanaian police have arrested self-proclaimed prophet Ebo Noah, who predicted a global flood after Christmas on December 25 and urged people to fund the construction of modern arks for salvation. The 30-year-old Evans Eshun, who faced numerous complaints, was arrested on December 31 for spreading panic-inducing information.

Ebo Noah gained popularity in August 2025 when he claimed divine instruction to build ten arks to save the chosen ones from a three-year global flood. According to him, the disaster was set to begin on December 25, 2025, and he called on people to prepare by coming to the location he specified.

Humanitarian Issues and Public Reaction

Reports indicate that hundreds of people, including residents from neighboring countries, left their homes and arrived at the designated location with their belongings, causing significant security and humanitarian issues.

For several months, Ebo Noah posted videos on social media showing the construction of wooden structures he called arks. He claimed these arks would be the only chance for survival for his followers and raised funds for their construction, stating he had already purchased over 250,000 wooden blocks.

When the disaster he predicted did not occur on Christmas, he posted a new video claiming that his prayers and three-week fast postponed the inevitable calamity.

Outrage and Arrest

Public outrage grew after his performance at a concert where he urged people to celebrate since the apocalypse was postponed. This performance sparked a storm on social media, with many users accusing him of deception and demanding his arrest.

The police emphasized that the ban on false prophecies that incite fear and panic remains in effect.

The situation surrounding Ebo Noah recalls how prophecies in the past have also sparked considerable controversy. For example, renowned scientist Isaac Newton attempted to predict the end of the world based on his interpretation of the Bible and arrived at the date of 2060. This shows how, throughout human history, prophecies have always had a significant impact on public opinion.
