Ukrainian authorities use the polygraph to check not only individuals who may be linked to state treason or collaboration but also in relation to Russian citizens, prisoners of war, and Ukrainian fighters who have been captured. These checks are conducted by various state bodies for security reasons.During such checks, attention is paid to substantiated suspicions or the presence of documented facts that may raise doubts about loyalty or possible hostile collaboration. The head of the National Association of Polygraphologists of Ukraine, Volodymyr Vedmid, noted that this is a necessary procedure, especially in wartime conditions when it is essential to verify the loyalty of military personnel and law enforcement officers. The Association of Polygraphologists cooperates free of charge with special services, providing them with its assistance. Even Russians who are on the territory of Ukraine may be offered to undergo polygraph testing, but only with their voluntary consent. Before conducting any research, consent must be obtained from the individual, regardless of their citizenship.
