Olympic champion Mykyta Nahornyi has been added to the EU sanctions list
Serhiy Karyakin, who is a senator of the Federation Council of Russia and represents the illegally annexed Crimea, has been included in the EU sanctions list. He received sanctions due to his support for Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Karyakin continued to facilitate the war and collect military supplies in support of the Russian armed forces. The EU has labeled his actions as a threat to the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Mykyta Nahornyi was also involved in the mass abduction and illegal deportation of Ukrainian children from occupied territories.
Nahornyi publicly supported Russia's actions in Ukraine, which led to his inclusion in the sanctions list. His influence on fans and the spread of pro-Russian propaganda were also taken into account when making the sanctions decision.
