Legendary Ukrainian footballer passes away - what we know about him.
Stepan Yurchyshyn, an outstanding footballer and legend of Lviv's 'Karpaty', has passed away at the age of 68. This was reported by the press service of FC 'Karpaty' Lviv.
In memory of Stepan Yurchyshyn
Yurchyshyn was a symbol of the Lviv club. In the 1979 season, he set a record in the First League of the USSR, scoring 42 goals, and remains the top scorer of this tournament. He represented various teams and played for the USSR national team.
After retiring, Yurchyshyn worked in 'Karpaty' as a coach, sports director, and was a deputy of the Lviv Regional Council. FC 'Karpaty' expressed sincere condolences to Yurchyshyn's relatives and friends, emphasizing his significant contribution to the history of Ukrainian football.
