According to inkorr.com: Lambis Nicolaou, honorary member of the International Olympic Committee, passed away at the age of 89. The IOC expressed its condolences and noted the great legacy he left in the sports world. IOC President Kirsty Coventry stated that Nicolaou sincerely dedicated his life to Olympic ideals.
Lambis Nicolaou actively participated in the Olympic movement and was also the president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee. He significantly contributed to the selection of Athens to host the 2004 Olympic Games.
“The FIS Council voted to exclude athletes with an individual neutral status (AIN) from the qualification competitions for the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Milan. Each international federation retains the right to independently decide whether to allow these athletes to qualify or not,” FIS reported.
Moreover, it became known that Russian speed skater Daniil Naidenishev, recognized as a neutral athlete, expressed support for the Russian military and liked posts related to Russia's aggression.
