Crimes of Aggression in the Ukraine War

According to UATV: Since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, authorities have documented more than 240,000 crimes of aggression. Of these, over 210,000 are classified as war crimes. Ukrainian Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko confirmed these figures, stating that Ukrainian courts have already convicted more than 240 Russian personnel since the war began.

Prosecutors have also served suspicion notices to more than 1,100 individuals. Notably, one in every seven suspects is a senior or high-ranking military officer of the Russian Federation. Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized the severity of the acts, stating:

'Deliberate killings. Violence. Torture. Indiscriminate shelling. Looting. This is just part of the hell brought by the aggressor.' Ruslan Kravchenko

He added that 'we have verdicts in Ukrainian courts for more than 240 criminals. The others are a matter of time.' This underscores the ongoing effort to hold perpetrators accountable for crimes against the Ukrainian people, with law enforcement continuing to investigate the full scope of aggression. The scale of these documented crimes is unprecedented in Europe since World War II.

Systematic Violations of International Humanitarian Law

This evidence points to systematic violations of international humanitarian law by Russia during its war in Ukraine. The continuation of investigations and prosecutions is a critical step toward ensuring justice and restoring the rule of law. As the conflict persists, it is vital for the international community to support Ukraine's efforts to document these atrocities and pursue accountability for the perpetrators.
