Over 800 Border Violators in a Single Month: Where Illegal Crossing Attempts Are Most Frequent.
Border Crossing Violations
According to Novyny.live: On June 24, during a press conference, Andriy Demchenko—spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine—reported that more than 800 individuals were detained in June for attempting to cross the border illegally. This figure reflects a steady rate of such incidents.
Analysis of Violation Trends
Just over 800 border violators were recorded in June, indicating that the overall situation remains stable. While May saw a slight uptick in violations, the June data points to a degree of normalization.
The highest number of illegal crossing attempts occurs along the Romanian border segment. In contrast, the Polish border sees the fewest violations. Notably, western border checkpoints are experiencing a significant increase in passenger traffic.
“This year, attempts to illegally cross the border via the Belarusian segment have dropped substantially.”
Andriy Demchenko
As a result, while the situation with illegal border crossings remains under control, heightened activity in certain areas demands constant attention from border guards.
These figures on border violations show that, despite some fluctuations, the overall rate of illegal crossing attempts is relatively stable. This may point to the effectiveness of measures taken by the State Border Guard Service, as well as shifts in violator behavior. The decline in activity along the Belarusian route could stem from political or economic factors influencing people’s decisions to attempt a crossing. Ongoing data analysis will help better understand the dynamics and implement necessary measures to maintain border control.
