Law enforcement officers blocked two schemes of illegal transportation of people across the state border.
In Vinnytsia, three people were detained who planned to organize an illegal crossing of the border to Moldova and Poland for a monetary reward. For this, they face up to nine years in prison, said the press service of the Vinnytsia region police.
One of the suspects, a 22-year-old resident of Vinnytsia, was detained after he received money from a client. For eight thousand dollars, he promised to help the person cross the Ukrainian border to Moldova outside the official checkpoints.
During the preliminary investigation, it was established that the suspect created a page in one of the social networks to find interested persons who want to illegally leave the country. The details of the deal were discussed in person. The client was promised that in two days he would be abroad, and he would be personally taken to the border area, where he would enter Moldova on foot.
Mobile phones, money, and an Audi A6 car, which was planned to be used to cross the border, were seized from the detainee.
The price of illegal crossing in the second case was 11,400 dollars. The price included: transporting the client from Vinnytsia to the border with Poland, organizing a foot crossing of the border outside the checkpoint, and a meeting in the other country.
Two Vinnytsia residents, aged 28 and 34, worked according to this scheme. The police detained them when they were waiting to receive money from the client.
Investigations of criminal cases are underway under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal transportation of persons across the border of Ukraine).
The actions to detect violations were carried out by investigators with the support of the Migration Police and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region under the leadership of the regional prosecutor's office.
