Putin supporter Ovechkin gifted Lukashenko a jersey with his autograph.

Alexander Ovechkin presented a gift to dictator Lukashenko
Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin surprised Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko by sending him his jersey from the 'Washington' team, personally signed by the player. This was reported by the portal 'Glavkom'.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus confirmed the receipt of a congratulatory letter from Lukashenko to Ovechkin, on which the player left the words: 'To Alexander Grigoryevich from Ovi! All the best.'
Earlier, Lukashenko congratulated Ovechkin on his record number of goals in NHL championships. The Russian player has 897 goals to his name.
Ovechkin is known for his support of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In 2017, he created the 'Putin Team' movement to support Putin. Although his social media account was filled with joint photos with Putin, Ovechkin did not withdraw his support even after the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
It is worth noting that Ukrainian national hockey team goalkeeper Eduard Zakharchenko expressed his opinion about Ovechkin, calling him a supporter of Putin and the dictator, and wished him bad luck.
