Upcoming Cash Transaction Restrictions at PrivatBank

According to Novyny.live: Beginning in March 2026, PrivatBank will implement new regulations governing cash transactions, affecting withdrawals at both ATMs and bank tellers. These changes will apply to all customer segments who use the bank's cash withdrawal services. This move aligns with broader industry trends aimed at modernizing payment systems.

The new rules for cash operations at PrivatBank in March 2026 introduce several key limitations. Specifically:

  • Clients using a PrivatBank card at an ATM will be limited to withdrawing 20,000 hryvnias within any three-hour period, and 100,000 hryvnias per day.
  • For customers using cards issued by other financial institutions, the limit will be 20,000 hryvnias per single transaction and 20,000 hryvnias within a three-hour window.
  • For the "Cardless Cash Withdrawal" service, the following limits apply: 4,000 hryvnias daily for the first withdrawal, 4,000 hryvnias per operation, and 20,000 hryvnias per day, with a maximum of five operations allowed.
  • The limit for cash withdrawals at a bank teller will be up to 100,000 hryvnias per day.
  • When withdrawing cash using another bank's card, the restrictions remain the same: 20,000 hryvnias per transaction and 20,000 hryvnias per day.
  • A limit is set for foreign currency withdrawals: 100,000 hryvnias (or equivalent) per day.
  • For foreign currency cards (USD/EUR), the limit also does not exceed 100,000 hryvnias equivalent per day.
  • For clients withdrawing cash abroad, specific restrictions will be in effect: 12,500 hryvnias equivalent per week.

It is also worth noting that a commission of 2% will be applied to cash withdrawals abroad using PrivatBank cards.

Consequently, the new cash withdrawal restrictions at PrivatBank, effective March 2026, will significantly alter the conditions for accessing cash funds for clients. These changes require careful consideration by users to avoid inconvenience during financial operations.

The introduction of new cash operation restrictions at PrivatBank is likely a response to trends in the financial services sector, which aim to reduce cash usage and enhance transaction security.

Customers should prepare to adapt to these new conditions to avoid potential disruptions during their financial transactions.
