Firehouse from 'The Princess Diaries' movie is for sale: What does the building look like.
In the city of San Francisco, a fire station is for sale that appeared in the movie 'The Princess Diaries'. The cost of this building is $7.95 million.
This building is the last restored firehouse built in 1909.
Initially it served Fire Company No. 44, and was then converted to a 'mission revival' style, popular in San Francisco at the beginning of the 20th century.
In 1958, the building was sold at auction. It was later acquired by artist Beth Van Hoesen and designer Mark Adams, who transformed it into a private residence.
In 2007, the owners renovated it, adding a kitchen with a butler's pantry, marble bathrooms, a gym, lounging areas, and even an elevator.
Current look of the building
The house has five bedrooms with original details of historical value. The ground floor has a living room and office with a bar, as well as a private garage.
The main bedroom is on the top floor. It has two walk-in closets, a spacious bathroom, and access to a private terrace.
There is also a basement with a gym, a beverage room, and a guest bedroom with access to an inner courtyard.
A special feature of the house is the central glass and steel staircase that runs through the entire building. The design also incorporates a fire alarm bell and a two-story fire pole to remind of its past.
