Rescuers of the State Emergency Service undergo canine therapy: how the dog Toto helps to combat stress.
According to inkorr.com: As part of the 'Psychological Practices Point' project, psychologists and a dog handler from the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response 'Sumy' of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine conducted special classes for rescuers, which included elements of canine therapy. The central figure of the meeting was an emotional support dog named Toto, who became a real stress reliever and a favorite among all present.
Communicating with Toto helped rescuers distract from heavy thoughts, relax, and feel positive emotions. One of the exercises was 'Driver', aimed at teaching rescuers to trust, let go of control, and allow another to lead. These guys save lives every day, and this time they were learning to trust their four-legged friend, giving him the opportunity to 'support' and 'rescue' them at least for a few minutes.
Warm and heartfelt atmosphere of the classes
The classes took place in an atmosphere of warmth, sincerity, and joy, filled with smiles, hugs, and kindness. Everyone could feel the support of their four-legged friends, who always understand without words.
The canine therapy session for rescuers took place at the Mobile Rescue Center 'Sumy' of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. These activities aim to enhance psychological resilience and help in working with stress for emergency service workers. They also promote learning cooperation and interaction with animals, which, in turn, improves psychological state and team productivity. Participants of the event noted the positive impact of the classes on their emotional state and overall team spirit.
Canine therapy is actively implemented in various fields, as it has proven effective in improving the psychological climate. Rescuers, who face significant stresses in their daily work, have gained the opportunity not only to relax but also to work on trust and interaction skills. Such classes can become an important part of supporting their emotional health and professional effectiveness.
