July 6 Kyiv Attack: 15 Dead, 60 Wounded, 30 Buildings Damaged in Massive Strike.
Tragedy Strikes Kyiv
According to UATV: At least 15 people were killed and roughly 60 injured on July 6 when Russian forces launched a major assault on Kyiv. The attack caused widespread destruction, damaging approximately 30 residential buildings. The barrage involved 68 missiles and 351 drones.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko described the city's dire situation, noting that the Podilskyi, Darnytskyi, and two other districts suffered severe damage. He stressed the urgent need for more shelters to protect civilians, stating:
“We need to build additional shelters.”
Rescue crews operated at 16 sites where destruction was reported. Local official Svitlana Vodolaha also highlighted the ongoing crisis. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy underscored the critical need to strengthen the country's air defense systems, warning:
“Any delay in bolstering Ukraine’s air defense costs human lives.”
Day of Mourning in Ukraine
In response to the tragedy, July 7 was declared a Day of Mourning across Ukraine. This attack serves as another grim reminder of the prolonged conflict in the region and its devastating toll on civilians.
This event underscores the escalation of military hostilities in Ukraine and their destructive impact on non-combatants.
