PSG will part ways with the Russian to sign Zabarnyi.
The management of 'PSG' has succeeded in negotiations with Ukrainian footballer Illya Zabarnyi. According to L'Equipe, the player demanded a special condition in the contract – not to play in the same team with a Russian colleague.
'PSG' prioritized the talented defender and agreed to Illya's terms without further ado.
The Ukrainian will join the Parisians in August 2025, after the end of his contract with 'Bournemouth'. Only minor details of the deal remain to be agreed upon and thanks exchanged between the clubs.
Another piece of news highlights the departure of Ukrainian goalkeeper Matviy Safonov from 'PSG'. The technical details of the contract with Illya Zabarnyi are still under wraps, but it is known that the player refused to play alongside a Russian colleague.
The Parisian club quickly found a replacement in goal, Luka Chevalier from 'Lille' will join the team to compete with Donnarumma.
Thus, 'PSG' is focusing on Ukrainian footballers, strengthening both its defense and goalkeeper line.
