PSG sets new club record and advances to the Round of 16 in the Champions League.

PSG achieved a convincing victory over Brest in the return leg of the Champions League season 2024/25. This was reported by Glavcom referring to RFI and L'Equipe.

PSG showcased an impressive game, winning 7-0 against Brest. The team confidently advanced to the Round of 16 of the tournament with an aggregate score of 10-0 over the two matches.

Impressive PSG Performance

In the match held at the Parc des Princes, PSG became the first club to record seven different goalscorers in a Champions League game. Among them were Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Desire Due, Nuno Mendes, Gonzalo Ramos, and Senny Mayulu.

Barcola opened the scoring in the 20th minute, converting a pass from Fabian Ruiz. Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG from Napoli, scored his first goal in the Champions League, doubling the team's lead before halftime. In the second half, the Parisians scored five more goals against Brest. The goals were scored by: Vitinha, Due, Mendes, Ramos, Mayulu.

This victory became a record for PSG in European competitions and was the first since 2017 when the team scored 7 goals in a Champions League match. It is worth noting that earlier this season, Paris Saint-Germain scored only 3 goals in their first 5 matches but managed to net 21 goals in their last 5 games.

PSG's largest victory in all competitions was 10-0, achieved in January 1994 in the French Cup against Cot-Chaud from Saint-Etienne.

Previously, PSG's largest score in European competitions was 7-1. The Parisians achieved this score in August 2001 against Belgian Gut in the Intertoto Cup, as well as in November 2017 in a group stage match of the Champions League against Scottish Celtic.

Now PSG awaits its next opponent in the Round of 16, which could be Liverpool or Barcelona. Meanwhile, the Brest team has had a disappointing European season with 4 consecutive losses.
