Rada did not appoint Shmyhal as Minister of Energy: what does it mean.
Insufficient support for the appointment of the Minister of Energy
According to TSN.ua: The Verkhovna Rada did not support the appointment of Denys Shmyhal as the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy of Ukraine. 210 members of parliament voted for the decision. This situation has led to the position of Minister of Energy remaining vacant for 55 days.
It is worth noting that the parliament also failed to proceed to the appointment of the Minister of Defense, and the personnel decisions were removed from the agenda. The next attempt to consider personnel appointments is planned for the next day. Thus, the situation with the appointment of key ministers remains uncertain.
The impact of the absence of the Minister of Energy
The absence of the Minister of Energy amid the current energy crisis can significantly complicate the adoption of important decisions in this area. The situation with vacant positions in the government underscores the instability of the political situation in Ukraine, which may affect the effectiveness of governance and the implementation of reforms.
The coming days could be crucial for the formation of a new government and the stabilization of the political situation in the country.
