According to The Sun: Rasmus Hojlund is leaving Manchester United and moving to Napoli. The striker will undergo a medical in Naples within the next 24 hours after the clubs reached an agreement.

The 22-year-old Hojlund will join Napoli on an initial loan deal, with the option to buy. According to Fabrizio Romano, the clubs have also agreed on a mandatory purchase for the Dane.

In addition to a loan fee of 5 million pounds, Napoli will spend an additional 38 million on this striker.

Last season, Hojlund scored ten goals in 52 matches across all competitions, only four of which were in the Premier League despite 32 appearances on the pitch.

The player became an expensive acquisition for United when he transferred from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 for 72 million. His departure means he leaves the team for 29 million less than he was purchased for.

Hojlund had difficulties gaining support from Ruben Amorim, and he has yet to appear on the pitch this season, not even making the matchday squad, including elimination from the Carabao Cup in the match against Grimsby.

Amorim relies on strikers Joshua Zirkzee and new signing Benjamin Sesko this season.

The Italians want to add Kobbie Mainoo to Antonio Conte's squad before the transfer window closes. The midfielder has informed United's management of his desire to transfer, as he wants more playing time before the World Cup.
