Inmates Ask Judge About Diddy: Letters Praising His 'Life Lessons' in Prison.

According to The Sun: The controversial rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs has received much positive feedback from his cellmates at the Brooklyn Detention Medical Center despite serious charges against him.

Inmates describe him as a positive personality and a teacher, organizing weekly classes called 'Free Lessons with Diddy'.

The 55-year-old artist, who is awaiting sentencing next month, conducts classes on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to health, as well as offering participants the chance to ask him about fame and money.

Inmate Testimonials

Douglas Welch, 42, told Judge Arun Subramanian that Combs 'brings love to the unit' and actively encourages health improvements.

“Sean Combs brings love to the unit. I know that since his arrival, all inmates cook and pray together, work out… I’ve started paying more attention to my health,”

Another inmate, Quinton Davis, noted that the classes include 'business management, entrepreneurship, and life skills.' He added that Combs even encouraged the group to use 'AI and Chat GPT'.

“This is a key factor and inside information about how Mr. Combs became an entrepreneurship icon from nothing,”

Davis explained, adding:

“I also learned to research things better using AI and Chat GPT.”

Another inmate assures that the rapper “brings joy and happiness to the atmosphere of the unit” and everyone has started treating each other positively since his arrival.

“Thanks to Mr. Combs, everyone in the unit has started to behave and act positively towards each other,”

reads one of the letters.

An official assessment from June 10 confirms the positive feedback. The document 'Employment Rating – Inmate' describes Combs as a mentor in Unit C-B with a handwritten note praising:

“Excellent class. Keep it up!!!”

Charges Against Combs

Combs was arrested in September 2024. He was acquitted in July of high-profile charges that included sex trafficking and conspiracy to organize crimes.

But he was found guilty on two counts of violating the Mann Act. Prosecutors claimed that he arranged travel for women across states for alleged drug 'freaks'. Sentencing is set for October 3, 2025.

His lawyers filed a 380-page petition requesting a sentence of no more than 14 months, which would mean immediate release after serving time, citing 'inhumane' conditions in prison and progress in battling addiction.

Over 100 letters from family and acquaintances were also submitted to demonstrate that he is rehabilitated. However, prosecutors are likely to seek a harsher penalty — around four to five years — emphasizing the violent charges.

Currently, inmates sharing a cell with Combs presented the judge with his positive image as a person who 'changes the atmosphere' in prison.
