Rap for the front: a soldier dedicated a song to the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian rap artist Artur Labyak, a member of the 'Cultural Descent' and serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, created a rap composition dedicated to the Ground Forces.
Artur Labyak, known as Tur, is a member of the band 'NastroY' and a winner of rap battles. In 2023, he joined the military, served in air defense, and became part of the 'Cultural Descent'. He is currently on the front line and supports the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with his music.
The composition 'Ground Forces' tells the story of a guy who went through all the difficulties of serving in the infantry and became a true man. Even in the toughest moments, he needs to perform his important duty.
Tur states that he wanted to convey the words of an ordinary Ukrainian soldier: 'These are not just my words. These are the words of an ordinary young man who got caught up in this war. And who has to do something about it.'
For Tur, creativity has always been a way to express relevant messages: 'Writing about the social issues that exist now is exactly what I call rap.' After joining the military, his creativity deepened even more.
Tur also emphasizes the importance of creating quality Ukrainian music. Society, especially the military, has a problem with Russian content. He believes that reducing the presence of Russian rap and music is a victory for the 'Cultural Descent.'

Mobile creative groups operate in the frontline areas. Two groups of artists perform for wounded soldiers in hospitals and training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 'Orchestra 59' also assists in this matter. About 200 performances for the military are held every month. 'Cultural Descent' unites famous Ukrainian artists with combat experience and civilian musicians.
In 2023, 'Cultural Descent' launched the project 'Books to the Front,' which provides soldiers in combat zones with necessary literature. Several bookstore chains joined the project, selling a total of 26 thousand books for the military in the first year.
In 2024, 'Cultural Descent' launched the project 'Front Studio' - a mobile studio for recording a musical album from the front line. 14 songs created by the soldiers themselves have already been recorded. Hundreds of musicians took part in the recording of the songs. The album features various genres, such as romances, rock ballads, lullabies, punk, opera, and rap.
Previously, 'Cultural Descent' released a music video for the song 'Without the Armed Forces PZDC,' dedicated to the Ukrainian soldiers. The author and performer of the song is Mykola Serha, a musician, soldier, and head of the 'Cultural Descent.'
