RF launched a missile strike on Kharkiv and the region
On September 1, 2024, the Russian Federation launched a powerful missile strike on Kharkiv and its region. The series of attacks lasted for an hour, starting around noon.
According to local authorities on Telegram, the first target was Lyubotyn in the Kharkiv district. As a result of the strike, a civilian enterprise was damaged, and three people were injured - two men aged 70 and 57 and a 59-year-old woman. They are receiving medical care, and their lives are not in danger.
Soon after, Kharkiv was subjected to a series of explosions. The city received several repeated strikes, prompting authorities to urge residents to stay in shelters. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleg Synegubov, the occupiers carried out about 10 strikes, causing damage to public infrastructure and injuring people. The destruction is still being assessed. Among the damaged objects are a shopping center, sports infrastructure, and residential buildings.
According to preliminary data, six people were injured in Kharkiv, including a six-year-old child with an acute stress reaction.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that one of the strikes landed in a private development area, where a fire engulfed several yards and a supermarket. Medical workers were also injured in the attack.
According to preliminary data, about 15-20 missiles were launched at Kharkiv and the region, most of which hit one district of the city. The launch was carried out from the territory of Russia - Belgorod and Rostov regions. According to preliminary information, the occupiers used S-300 or S-400 missile systems, as well as Iskander systems.
