Russia modernizes kamikaze drones with Chinese antennas.
According to the chief of the communications department of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, Russian occupiers are trying to use new Chinese antennas with 16 channels on kamikaze drones of the 'Shahed' type in order to bypass Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.
'If previously there were 8 channels, now there are 16. Everything needs to be suppressed with electronic warfare means. Usually, the 'Shahed' is controlled by a satellite that has satellite navigation, and the drone has the same guidance system... It needs to be shot down from the route or the signal needs to be suppressed. Our electronic warfare systems are dealing with this, so that the drone does not reach its destination and does not create a threat to human life,’ explained the military.
The chief of the communications department of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, noted that the more antennas an enemy drone has, the more means are needed for Ukrainian defenders to suppress the signal. However, work is already underway on this.
'It is important to understand that electronic warfare systems that can be purchased on OLX are not always effective. This applies to many cases when they rely on such systems, but they do not work as desired,’ emphasized the head of the department.
