Russia is advancing in the Lyman direction: what threatens the invaders' progress.
According to FREEДOM:
Situation at the front
Russian invaders are trying to gain the upper hand at the front due to numerical strength, although the quality of their soldiers' training is not a priority at this stage. This was reported by military expert Denys Popovych on the FREEДОМ TV channel.
“Their current approach is this: they kill one soldier — they send a new one. That's how they try to act. Therefore, training is not so important for them. It can last a day or two, or even a week. A month is the best case scenario,” the expert said.
Popovych noted that many Russian soldiers do not even have the task of engaging in battle or capturing positions of Ukrainian troops.
“Many simply have the task of advancing as far as possible, taking a position, and waiting for reinforcements. That is, it is not even necessary to shoot,” Popovych noted.
This tactic is used by the enemy in the Lyman direction of the front in Donetsk, where inadequately trained soldiers attack in small groups.
Enemy advancement
Regarding the situation in this direction, Popovych reported that the enemy is actively advancing in the Serebryansky forestry.
“In this context, it is worth mentioning the Siversky section, where the enemy, unfortunately, is advancing in the Serebryansky forestry. Unfortunately, he has managed to capture this area significantly,” the expert noted.

Popovych emphasized that if Russian troops advance to Druzhivka, it will pose a threat to Severetsk.
“In fact, Severetsk is already in the ‘pocket’. If the advance continues, it will be considered encirclement. Severetsk is an important stronghold in the Lyman direction. Further enemy advancement in the Lyman direction threatens access to the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration from the north. This could create a threat of an offensive on Slovyansk and Kramatorsk from the south and north,” the expert concluded.
It is worth noting that in the Lyman direction, Russian troops made 34 attacks over the past day, trying to break through the Ukrainian defenses near the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Karpivka, Kolodezy, Myrne, Torske, Olhivka, Shandryholove, Stavky, Druzhivka, and Serebryanka.
The situation at the front remains tense, and the actions of Russian troops indicate that the enemy is trying to find weak spots in the defense of Ukrainian forces. It is necessary to keep the situation under control, as further advances may threaten important objects in the region.
