Internet outage in Russia: banks, shops, and popular services unavailable
A major internet outage occurred in Russia, affecting most regions of the country. Users are reporting issues accessing various internet resources, such as bank websites, shops, and popular services.
According to monitoring services, the outage occurred at leading telecom operators, such as 'Beeline', 'Megafon', and 'Tele 2', which are having trouble providing internet services to 97% of users. Issues have also been identified with the operation of Google, Telegram, TikTok, YouTube, Steam, and Twitch.
The press service of 'Rostelecom' reported that their networks have no issues accessing internet resources. However, Roskomnadzor confirmed that 'failures are being recorded across all operators, and the cause of the outage is being investigated.'
Interestingly, at the beginning of the incident, Telegram and 'VKontakte' were working without problems, but later users began to notice issues with these services. Services from 'Yandex' also partially operated.
