Russians are massing complaints about salary delays: Rostrud data on 70,000 appeals

According to ТСН: A significant number of Russians are filing complaints about violations of labor legislation. According to Rostrud, more than 70,000 such appeals were registered at the beginning of December, which is one and a half times more than in the corresponding period last year.

The most common complaints concern delays in salary payments. As of early December, more than 26,000 such appeals were recorded, which is 60% more compared to last year. There has also been a 33% increase in complaints about illegal dismissals.

The economic situation in Russia

Despite optimistic reports from Rosstat about economic growth, the structure of this growth indicates a critical dependence on the military-industrial complex. According to analysts from the Foreign Intelligence Service, two-thirds of this year's GDP growth is provided by the defense sector, which operates in a three-shift mode.

Meanwhile, the profits of Russian companies decreased by 7.7% over three quarters of 2025. This raises the risks of salary payment delays, which could lead to increased credit indebtedness, complications in the banking sector, and threats of a larger economic crisis.

"This dynamic indicates that the formal GDP growth in Russia is increasingly based on military expenditures, while socio-economic indicators demonstrate a deepening crisis," says the message from the SZRU.

It was previously noted that the Russian economy is in a vulnerable state and may not withstand a sharp decline in oil prices.

Moreover, economist and blogger Sergey Fursa expressed concerns about the possible collapse of the Russian economy and its potential consequences for the state.

The labor market situation in Russia reflects the overall economic tension in the country. The increase in the number of appeals against the backdrop of declining incomes and economic uncertainty may indicate a deterioration in the living conditions of the population. Economic difficulties related to military expenditures and dependence on external resources may lead to further social protests and dissatisfaction. These factors should be taken into account both within the country and beyond its borders, as they may have far-reaching consequences for the stability of the region.
