Russia has changed its offensive tactics: why the enemy has switched to small groups.
Change of tactics of Russian troops
According to inkorr.com: According to the latest data, Russian occupation forces have decided to change their tactics, abandoning large assault groups in favor of smaller units that attempt to penetrate behind Ukrainian positions. This information was announced by the spokesperson of the 3rd Army Corps, Oleksandr Borodin.
According to him, in the area of responsibility of the corps, the enemy is constantly conducting assaults and employs infiltration tactics with small groups into rear areas. This is not a localized phenomenon - the occupiers are using a similar strategy across the entire front.
Previously, Russian troops actively involved medium-sized assault groups, drones, and guided aerial bombs. However, their current strategy focuses on the infiltration of individual fighters and small units through the line of defense, aimed at exhausting and identifying the vulnerable spots of Ukrainian defense, the spokesperson explained.
Role of the 3rd Army Corps
The 3rd Army Corps is responsible for the defense of approximately 150 kilometers of the front, which constitutes about 12% of the total length. It holds the defense in the northern sections of Donetsk region and Kharkiv region, and is commanded by Andriy Biletsky. The formation was established in March 2025 based on the 3rd separate assault brigade.
The change in Russian military tactics, focusing on the use of smaller units to penetrate the rear of Ukrainian defenses, allows the enemy to seek weaknesses and exhaust the opponent. The activities of the 3rd Army Corps are critically important for maintaining defense in the northern areas.
