The Russian army has increased the use of equipment on two fronts - ISW.
In Donetsk, Russian forces are increasing activity before the onset of autumn bad weather
In the western part of the Donetsk region, Russian troops have increased mechanized activity, reports the Institute for the Study of War. The occupiers are trying to advance across the expanses before the rains begin in order to consolidate their positions before the weather conditions worsen.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian forces are using armored vehicles in attacks on the Pokrovsky and Kurakhovsky directions, registering three mechanized attacks of battalion size over the past week. This is a significant increase in activity, as only four similar attacks were recorded during the previous period.
The general deterioration of soil conditions along the entire front line due to autumn rains is forcing the Russian command to accelerate offensive operations. Their goal is to use relatively favorable conditions to facilitate passage through fields and to prepare for future offensives when the soil again becomes suitable for military equipment passage.
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War predict that after the period of autumn bad weather, Russian forces will continue offensive operations, although their effectiveness will temporarily decrease due to the deterioration of weather conditions.
Recall that Russian troops have halted before Chasiv Yar but continue to attack positions in this area. They are also attempting to bypass the town of Kurakhove.
