The Russian national team plans to hold matches against Canadian teams in Toronto and Charlottetown from June 14 to 19. These will be the first competitions in the last six years. The Russian team will feature players born in 2008 and 2009, including from CSKA and other clubs. Previous seasons of the Super Series were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tennis player Mira Andreyeva has come under criticism for liking posts from the pro-Putin organization 'People's Front'. The organization supports the occupiers, and its activists are under sanctions from the EU, Canada, Switzerland, and Ukraine. Anton Endzhievsky, a prizewinner of Russian championships in alpine skiing and an activist of the 'People's Front', published propaganda photographs that received likes from Mira Andreyeva.
