At an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the Association of Ombudsmen of the Mediterranean, a decision was made to exclude the Russian ombudsman from its membership.
This was reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, this is already the third organization of ombudsmen that has decided to exclude Russia: the first to do so was the International Institute of Ombudsmen in August 2022, and in April 2023 - the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions.
"While the UN Security Council is afraid to even start the process of excluding the Russian Federation, the united family of ombudsmen is acting confidently. If international organizations follow this example, Russian representatives will be isolated and unable to spread their propaganda. The terrorist country has no right to vote on the world stage," - said Lubinets.
