Ukrainian drivers are being turned away at the border with Romania: without a technical inspection, they will not be allowed through.
At the border with Romania, Ukrainian drivers are being turned away due to the lack of a technical inspection. This rule applies to both passenger cars and trucks. Border guards require a certificate of technical condition; otherwise, drivers will have to turn back.
From now on, to travel to Romania in their own vehicle, it is necessary to have a technical inspection certificate. This document is mandatory for crossing the border, regardless of the condition and insurance of the vehicle.
The technical inspection certificate confirms the technical condition of the vehicle and is issued only after inspection at a specialized service station. Here, brakes, tires, lighting, exhaust system, and overall condition of the vehicle are checked.
What documents are needed to cross the border
In addition to the technical inspection certificate, at the border with Romania, it is necessary to have a biometric passport or visa, vehicle documents, medical insurance, confirmation of the purpose of travel, military registration document for men, as well as a power of attorney if using someone else's vehicle.
It is also important to remember the prohibited items for import: meat, dairy products, honey, plants without the necessary documents, pirated discs, weapons, drugs, and cash over 10 thousand euros without declaration. Violating these rules may lead not only to being turned back at the border but also to fines or confiscation of the cargo.
In addition, we previously wrote about what passport can be used to cross the border, as well as about restrictions on taking cash out of Ukraine.
Starting from a certain point, Ukrainian drivers intending to travel to Romania need to have a technical inspection certificate for their vehicles. This rule applies to both passenger cars and trucks and helps ensure technical safety on the roads and at the border. In the absence of this document, drivers may be denied passage at the border. Therefore, it is advisable to prepare all necessary documents before the trip to avoid inconveniences and delays.Read also
