Rutte outlines the future of relations between the West and Russia.

NATO: Restoring relations with Russia is only possible after the war in Ukraine ends
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes that restoring relations between Europe, the USA, and Russia is only possible after the war in Ukraine ends and aggression ceases. He noted that it is currently important to continue applying pressure on Russia in order to compel it to seriously negotiate with the USA and Ukraine.
'We are far from there yet,' Rutte emphasized. He urged not to be naive about the Russians and expressed the belief that sanctions against Russia should remain in place.
Rutte also mentioned that reports of a possible return to gas agreements with Russia are currently not relevant. At this moment, it is important to continue applying pressure on the Russian Federation to compel it to take the necessary steps. 'That is why we have sanctions,' he added.
The NATO Secretary General emphasized that in the long term, Russia will remain part of reality: 'Russia is not going anywhere. That is, Russia will remain.'
Rutte recalled his experience communicating with Russian President Vladimir Putin before 2014, when many negotiations took place. He believes that if the war in Ukraine ends, Europe and the USA will need to gradually restore relations with Russia. However, he reiterated the need to continue applying pressure on Russia at this Time.
Earlier, Voltz commented on negotiations with Ukraine and responded to questions about Donbas.
