Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General, urged allied countries to strengthen the Alliance's defense capabilities after the war in Ukraine. He advocated for a fourfold increase in air and missile defense. NATO also plans to acquire new equipment and weapons, including armored vehicles, tanks, and artillery, and to double its support capabilities.
