Krakow Stadium No Longer Home for Shakhtar: Wisła’s President Explains the Move.
Donetsk’s Shakhtar and Wisła’s Stadium
According to Novyny.live: Shakhtar Donetsk will no longer host its Champions League home games at Wisła Krakow’s stadium. The decision was confirmed by Wisła’s president, Jarosław Królewski. According to him, the club’s priorities must take precedence over sentiment and personal relationships.
Wisła’s Own Path Forward
Królewski also stated that Wisła will not organize home matches for Ekstraklasa newcomers ‘Wieczysta’. Having led Wisła since 2022, his leadership is now focused on rebuilding the club after years of fighting for survival. In his remarks, Królewski emphasized that Wisła must first and foremost look after its own interests.
These shifts in match arrangements for both Shakhtar and Wisła reflect each club’s effort to find the best solutions amid today’s sports landscape. Both teams are placing greater emphasis on their own priorities and commitments, signaling a push for stability and growth at a time when sports infrastructure must adapt to new challenges. This decision could also shape how both clubs approach future competitions and engage with their fans.
