Summit in Paris: what EU leaders agreed on.
A meeting of European leaders took place in Paris, during which it was decided to provide Ukraine with security guarantees. However, it is about the necessity of concluding a peace agreement before a ceasefire. A representative of the European Union noted that the guarantees will be provided taking into account the level of support from the USA.
This meeting was convened due to the bilateral negotiations of President Trump with Russia, excluding European allies and Ukraine. In addition to the summit participants, planned peace talks will take place on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia.
Leaders from the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark attended the meeting. Also present were the heads of NATO, the European Commission, and the European Council.
The EU representative agreed with the approach of 'peace through strength', however, he added that a peace agreement is necessary before a ceasefire.
