Recently, the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts has been at the center of scandals related to sexual harassment by some faculty members, who have been accused by students. National Taras Shevchenko Prize laureate, theater and film actor Oleksiy Bohdanovych, who also teaches at this university, advises young actors and actresses to be resolute in defending their rights. He stated this in an interview with 'Glavkom'.

In his quoted statement, he cites the example of actress Elina Bystrytska, who also faced accusations of sexual harassment while studying at the Kyiv Theater Institute of Karpenko-Kary. This case indicates that a decisive reaction to such situations can have a positive effect. After being expelled from the university, Elina was able to build a successful career in Moscow.

Bohdanovych explained that if the actress had remained at the institute after such an incident, no one would have bothered her anymore. But she decided to leave the university, which subsequently allowed her to develop in Moscow. For this reason, he urged young actors and actresses to be confident and resolute in protecting their rights.

The actor also announced that he would no longer conduct individual classes with female students after Karpenko-Kary teacher Andriy Bilois was accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate messages. Bohdanovych explained that he fears a student might take offense at him and accuse him of inappropriate behavior.
