Six-time Olympic champion announced he has terminal cancer.

Olympic champion Chris Hoy stated that doctors have diagnosed him with terminal stage prostate cancer. According to their forecasts, the athlete has between two to four years left to live. Hoy, however, stated that he remains positive and happy due to the support of his family and the medication he takes. He also noted that he still feels healthy and strong.

Chris Hoy is one of the most successful Scottish cyclists, having won six gold medals in the Olympic Games and 11 world championship titles. He was also the flag bearer for the British team at the 2012 Olympics. In 2013, Hoy ended his professional career.

Yevhen Krivosheytsev, a Ukrainian athlete, reported the death of his friend and former teammate Maksym Petrenko on the front line. Maksym was a renowned climber and two-Time world champion. He repeatedly represented Ukraine at international competitions and earned medals.

Furthermore, Roman Holovatyuk, a famous Ukrainian kickboxer, also died on the front line. He was a merited master of sport in WAKO kickboxing and the winner of the World Games. Roman left his sports career to volunteer.

These sad losses indicate the difficult situation on the front line and the significant contribution of athletes to the defense of Ukraine. They will remain in our memory as heroes and true Ukrainians.
