The scandalous Russian tennis player complained that he was insulted by fans in Rome.
Daniil Medvedev spoke about the behavior of the spectators during the match in Rome
The Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev shared his impressions of the support from the spectators during the 1/8 final match of the tournament in Rome against Lorenzo Musetti. In his statement, he noted that many fans supported him, but unfortunately, there were also those who shouted insults. Despite this, the overall atmosphere was pleasant, except for some individuals who distorted the general mood. Medvedev noted that he had to play in a more hostile environment in the past.
“This season Medvedev has not been able to win any titles in singles and has lost his place in the top ten players in the world according to the ATP rankings.”
It is worth noting that Medvedev had previously been involved in scandals during other tennis competitions. For example, during a match at the Australian Open, he cursed at a spectator, which could have significantly affected his results on the court.
In addition, another Russian tennis player, Polina Kudermetova, also came under scrutiny due to her attitude toward Ukraine. She posted a symbol of aggression against the Ukrainian people - the St. George ribbon, which caused much discussion and negative reaction online.
In general, events in the tennis world continue to provoke strong emotions and discussions among both fans and athletes.
