How many Ukrainians plan to buy housing in 2025: survey data.
Ukrainians are increasingly less likely to plan to purchase their own housing by 2025. This is attributed to the difficult economic situation, the military conflict, and the devaluation of the hryvnia, which leads to rising real estate prices. Therefore, more and more people are choosing to rent housing. According to an OLX survey, 73% of Ukrainians do not plan to change their housing by 2025, 15% intend to sell it, and 12% are renting it out.
Demand for purchasing real estate
According to the survey, 64% of Ukrainians do not intend to purchase real estate before 2025, 24% plan to buy it within the next 5 years, and only 12% are ready to buy in the near future.
It is assumed that during 2025, there will be 2.4 million potential real estate buyers among 20.3 million people who are able to acquire housing. This creates demand in the market this year.
Costs for purchasing housing
According to the OLX survey, 46% of respondents are considering purchasing real estate for a price of up to $30,000, 34% - from $30,000 to $60,000, 16% - from $60,000 to $150,000, and 4% are considering options exceeding $150,000.
The majority (55%) plan to buy housing with their own funds, 25% - through the 'eOselya' program, and 20% are considering other lending options. Also, more than 24% are considering the option of purchasing real estate for future rental.
Priority factors when choosing real estate
The main priorities for Ukrainians when choosing housing are the availability of important infrastructure facilities, independent heating and water supply, alternative energy sources, the presence of shelters or bomb shelters nearby, and the security of the area.
The survey also showed that 31% of Ukrainians hope for a stabilization of real estate prices this year, while 27% expect a significant increase in prices, which may make housing acquisition less beneficial.
The President of the Association of Real Estate Specialists of Ukraine, Olena Haidamaka, also reported changes in the 'eOselya' program.
