According to The Sun: The dance star, who became famous through his victory on 'So You Think You Can Dance', tragically passed away at the age of 36.
Joshua Allen's family requested 'privacy and prayers' following his death on Tuesday.

Emmanuel Hurd, a friend of Allen, expressed shock and noted that the dancer had a 'very honest and authentic personality' who was open about his struggles.
'He didn't always do things the way others thought was right, but that's what made him a winner,'- said Hurd.
The beginning of Joshua's career
Allen won the fourth season of the show in 2008 and received a prize of $250,000, marking the beginning of his career. His competitor was Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, who finished in second place and they became close friends.
Boss, who sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 40 by suicide.
Allen was active in sports during his childhood but fell in love with dance in his teenage years. After his win on the show, he confessed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he had never taken formal dance lessons.
In 2010, he appeared in the film 'Step Up 3D' as one of the lead dancers and participated in the second season of the reality show 'Dance Your A** Off' on the Oxygen network.
Additionally, he landed a role in the 2011 remake of the musical 'Footloose'. Allen appeared in many TV shows, including 'Community' on NBC and 'American Horror Story' on FX.
Struggles and losses
Throughout his life, Allen faced recurring problems with the police and was confronted with several charges of violence. In 2016, he was convicted of domestic violence and spent a year in prison.
The last years of his life were marked by tragedies, having to bury several friends. In July, he posted a sad message on Instagram in memory of actor Malcolm Jamal-Warner, who died while bathing in Costa Rica.

In 2022, Joshua wrote a comprehensive message in memory of Boss, calling him his 'brother':
'It’s not goodbye, but rather, I will see you again,'- he noted.
