The USA has never had moral superiority: with Trump they no longer pretend - Media.
The American authorities, in trying to seize Ukraine's natural resources, may undermine their own authority, claims Guardian columnist Owen Jones.
'This is the behavior of a bully that affects the authority of the USA. Half of the revenues from Ukrainian resources should be given not just to profit, but to the value of 400 billion pounds sterling, which means turning Ukraine into a colony of the USA,' he writes.
According to the author, such behavior indicates the decline of the three pillars of US hegemony.
The first - military superiority - has already been destroyed. The second - economic superiority - suffers due to the financial crisis and wage issues. And the third - moral superiority - also no longer exists, asserts Jones.
He also emphasizes the hypocrisy of the USA, which is moving away from its high moral principles and projecting its power in a particularly ugly way.
All of this leads to the USA becoming unstable and weakened, with diminished military capability, an economic model in crisis, democracy in turmoil, and innocent behavior, concludes Jones.
