It became known what the total amount the state will pay Ukrainian Olympians for medals.

The Ukrainian national team won 12 medals at the 2024 Olympic Games. Athletes who won medals at these games will be awarded prizes according to the established amounts. The prizes are funded from the state budget through the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The prize amount for a gold medal remained unchanged compared to Tokyo-2020 and is $125,000. Payments for silver and bronze increased - from $80,000 to $100,000 and from $55,000 to $80,000, respectively.

Prizes for won medals at the 2024 Olympics

• "Gold" - $125,000 (5.1 million UAH)
• "Silver" - $100,000 (4.09 million UAH)
• "Bronze" - $80,000 (3.2 million UAH)

Ukraine won three gold medals at the Paris-2024 Olympics: in team fencing (Kharlan, Komashchuk, Kravatska, Bakastova), in high jump (Mahuchikh), and in boxing in the 80 kg weight category (Khizhniak). Each of these athletes will receive $125,000.

The largest prizes

• $205,000 - Olga Kharlan (fencing);
• $125,000 - Olexander Khizhniak (boxing), Yaroslava Mahuchikh (high jump), Yuliya Bakastova, Alina Komashchuk, Olena Kravatska (all - fencing);
• $100,000 - Parviz Nasibov (Greco-Roman wrestling), Lyudmila Luzan and Anastasia Rybachok (both - rowing), Irina Kolyadenko (freestyle wrestling), Serhiy Kulish (shooting), Illia Kovtun (artistic gymnastics);
• $80,000 - Zhan Beleniuk (Greco-Roman wrestling), Irina Herashchenko (high jump), Mykhailo Kokhan (hammer throw).

The total prize amount for Ukrainian athletes will be $1.67 million, or 68.3 million UAH when converted to hryvnias.

The 2024 Olympic Games were held in Paris and 16 other cities in Europe, as well as on the island of Tahiti, which belongs to France. At these games, breakdancing competed for the first Time as an Olympic sport, and these are expected to be the last games under the leadership of IOC President Thomas Bach.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the gold Olympic medals in Paris are the most valuable: their market value is about $900.
