Winner of the XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. The Ukrainian team with O. Harlan, Elena Homrova, Olga Zhovnir, and Galina Pundik defeated the host team, the Chinese team, in the finals with a score of 45:44. The Ukrainian women managed to overcome a deficit of more than 10 points during the competition.

On the way to the final, the Ukrainian team defeated the Russian team 45:34 and then beat the strong US team in the semifinals (45:39), which ultimately won bronze.

Nominated as the best athlete of Ukraine in 2008.

Gold medal at the European Championships 2009. In the final, she defeated the Russian Yekaterina Datsenko 15:10.

Gold medal at the World Championship 2009 in team competition.

Silver medalist at the World Championship 2009 in individual competition.

At the 2012 London Olympics, she lost in the semifinals to the Russian Sofia Velikaya but won the bronze medal in the match for third place against the American Mariel Zagunis. At the European Fencing Championships, she became the European champion in individual competition.

On February 20, 2016, she won gold at a World Cup tournament in fencing in Belgium. In the decisive match, she defeated the Russian Yana Egoryan 15:10.

Overall, since 2005, Olga has won over 25 medals at world and European championships, including three world titles in individual competition (the third on July 22, 2017, in Leipzig) and five European titles in individual competition.

On December 10, 2018, Olga won the overall ranking of the World Cup in fencing 2017-18.

On December 15, 2019, she won a World Cup tournament in fencing in the USA.

In 2020, Olga Harlan became the prototype for a Barbie doll. The fencing doll was included in the Role Models collection launched in 2018. Harlan was the first Ukrainian to be included in this collection.

Personal Life. Divorced. She was married to Ukrainian fencer Dmitri Boyko from 2014 to 2018.
