Creating a strategy for engagement with Trump: Macron and Scholz to meet.
French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will meet on Wednesday to define a new course for Europe under Donald Trump's presidency.
According to Bloomberg, Scholz and Macron will call for a swift response if the U.S. does impose tariffs on European exports. A meeting will take place with the new administration in Washington.
During the meeting, Scholz and Macron will consider European regulations on the activities of American tech giants, as well as ways to support the EU in combating disinformation and hostile language on social media platforms like Elon Musk's Tesla, and Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook and Instagram.
It is worth noting that Macron has expressed his position on the timing of the end of the war in Ukraine.
