The new Dream Team feature saved millions of players: how it happened

According to The Sun: The new Dream Team Replacement feature saved the situation in the second round.

Almost half of the managers expected great excitement from Cole Palmer (£5.7m) in the match against 'West Ham' on Friday evening, but disaster struck when the 'Chelsea' talisman was injured during warm-up.

The 23-year-old player was the most popular player in Dream Team when he was removed from the lineup moments before the start of the match.

As a result, Palmer missed all the fun as the 'blues' easily won 5-1 at the London Stadium, and the biggest winners were Joao Pedro (£4.3m) and Enzo Fernandez (£4.3m).

Previously in Dream Team, managers had to just nurse their wounds, but the new Replacement feature was designed for such situations.

The moment the final whistle blew in East London, managers could activate Replacement and substitute Palmer with someone who hadn't played yet (depending on the budget).

And since 'West Ham' vs 'Chelsea' was the first match of the round, managers had plenty of options to choose from.

Those who picked Viktor Gyokeres (£5.8m) before the home match against 'Arsenal' vs 'Leeds' were generously rewarded with 16 points, as the Swedish striker scored twice at Emirates on Saturday morning.

Of course, the difference between zero from Palmer and a bountiful harvest from Gyokeres is enormous.

It's worth remembering that Replacement is available five times during the season.

Having to use this opportunity already in the second round is not the best option, but this case was a typical example for utilizing the new feature.

How often does the most selected player in the game get injured during warm-up before the first match of the round?

Palmer's future in a precarious state

As for Palmer's condition, it remains unclear whether he will be ready to play against 'Fulham' next Saturday.

After Friday's match, Enzo Maresca said: 'Cole hasn't been at 100% for the last four or five days.'

'He tried the warm-up, but felt something. So we decided not to take any risks to avoid making things worse, and we'll see in the next few hours whether it's something serious or not.'

Currently, Palmer is the most overpriced player heading into the third round in Dream Team.

Unfortunately, Dream Team managers have a few issues this week, as Bukayo Saka (£6.3m) and latecomer Dan Ballard (£2.3m) also have short-term problems on the sidelines.

The Dream Team season didn’t start very smoothly, but savvy managers are able to thrive amidst chaos.

In the new round of Dream Team, the Replacement feature proved invaluable, helping managers to substitute an injured player and gain more points. Palmer remains in question ahead of the next match, and we await clarification on his condition. The season hasn’t started the best, but a competent manager will be able to navigate through all the challenges and flourish amid chaos.
