Svitolina reached the third round of Wimbledon: the next opponent is known.
In the second round match, the Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina defeated Belarusian Alexandra Sasnovich with a score of 6:2, 6:4. The match lasted 1 hour and 17 minutes, during which Svitolina displayed excellent play, making one ace and committing only 12 unforced errors.
The beginning of the match was equal: the tennis players exchanged breaks twice. However, Svitolina then took the initiative, winning three games in a row, breaking her opponent's serve twice, and finished the first set with a score of 6:2.
In the second set, the Ukrainian lost her opening game but quickly bounced back and made two breaks to take the lead. Sasnovich managed to equalize in the eighth game, but the decisive moment was the tenth: Svitolina broke for the first time and won the set in her favor - 6:4.
In the next round, Elina will play against Belgian Elise Mertens, who is the 24th seed in the tournament. The current record in their head-to-head matches belongs to the Ukrainian with a score of 5:3.
