Wheat futures have risen sharply, reaching their highest level in the last 2 months. The reason for this is Ukraine's statement about a missile strike on a Russian grain carrier in the Black Sea. After this, the ship crossed into Ukrainian waters.
On the Chicago exchange, the price of wheat futures rose to $5.9175 per bushel, a record since July 2024.
This price movement coincides with a period of low wheat harvests in leading producer countries, as well as the expected reduction in wheat supplies from exporters.
