Ukrainian high jumper Katerina Tabashnyk has confirmed her participation in the Diamond League stage, which will take place in Polish Silesia on August 15. She will also compete alongside Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Yuliya Levchenko, reports 'Suspilne Sport'.
According to the 31-year-old athlete, she previously shied away from participating in the Diamond League, considering herself unprepared for such competitions. However, after a successful performance at the Ukrainian championship, where she took second place, Katerina decided to change her mind and test her strength on the international stage.
Katerina Tabashnyk's return to the Diamond League
The Ukrainian athlete is a medalist of international tournaments and a participant in world championships. She suffered a serious injury in 2023, which caused her to start the summer season of 2024 with renewed form. Now, Tabashnyk is ready to show her maximum in Silesia and return to a high level.
'In Silesia, I want to show my maximum and return to the level where I should be,' — said Katerina Tabashnyk.
At the Diamond League stage in Silesia, Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Yuliya Levchenko will also participate, who are vying for a spot in the tournament finals. Olympic medalist Mykhailo Kokhan took third place in Hungary, battling strong competition.
