NASA revealed the mystery of the Bethlehem Star: what it really was.
According to ТСН: NASA astronomer Mark Metni reported that the legendary Bethlehem Star, which led the Wise Men to the birthplace of Jesus, could have been a real astronomical phenomenon.
According to his research, instead of a supernatural sign in the sky, a bright comet observed more than two thousand years ago may have been perceived as that very star.
Metni studied Chinese archives that mentioned a bright comet visible for over 70 days around 5 BC.
This comet could very well match the description from the Gospel of Matthew, as initially, it shone in the east and later 'led' travelers from Jerusalem to Bethlehem.
According to the reconstructed possible orbits, in June of that year, this celestial body was so close that it could be seen even during the day. The researcher emphasized that its motion first accurately corresponds with the biblical description where the star seemed to stop over the place of Jesus' birth.
Scientists have attempted to explain the phenomenon of the Bethlehem Star over 400 times, yet no definitive answer has been reached. Some considered it a nova explosion, while others viewed it as a myth. NASA's research has become one of the most substantiated hypotheses regarding its real origin.
It is worth recalling that we tend to think that aliens are either extinct or hiding from danger. However, the reason for the silence of the universe may be much simpler. A NASA scientist proposed a new theory for the absence of contact with extraterrestrial life and claims that aliens are just bored looking for other civilizations.
Thus, Metni's research may change our understanding of one of the most famous stories in the Christian tradition. While the question of aliens remains open, it is essential to remember that science continues to seek answers to ancient mysteries that have always been part of human culture.
