Wladimir Igorovitsch Arew - Ukrainian politician and journalist. Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VI, VII, VIII and IX convocations. Vice-President of the PACE (2015 and 2018), Chairman of the PACE Committee on Culture, Education, Science and Media (2016-2017).
Place of Birth. Education. Born in Kyiv. In 1992 he graduated from the Specialized Natural Science Lyceum No. 145 in the capital. From 1992 to 1994 he was a student at the Physics Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. 1994 - BBC World Service School. In 2002 he graduated from the journalism program at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
Career. 1993-1994 - Assistant correspondent, BBC (Kyiv).

Head of the Subcommittee on Monitoring Reforms, Personnel Provision and Resource Allocation of the authorities fighting organized crime and corruption, of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Combating Organized Crime and Corruption.
2012-2014 - Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine VII from the Batkivshchyna party (elected from constituency No. 218 in Kyiv). Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs. Non-partisan.
From November 2014 to August 2019 - Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine VIII from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc (elected from constituency No. 218 in Kyiv). He won and received 63.46% of the votes.
In January 2015, he was elected chairman of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Vice-President of the PACE in 2015. He is a member of the European People's Party faction in PACE.
On January 25, 2016, he was elected for two years as the President of the PACE Committee on Culture, Education, Science and Media.
On January 22, 2018, Wladimir Arew, head of the Ukrainian delegation in the PACE, was elected Vice-President of the Assembly.
During the early parliamentary elections in 2019, he was elected to the Verkhovna Rada IX from the party European Solidarity as member No. 17 on the party list.
Awards. Honored Journalist of Ukraine.
Family. The politician is married. He has a daughter (born 2000).
