Dmitry Markovich Dobkin - Ukrainian deputy of the VII and VIII convocation, member of the Party of Regions and the Opposition Bloc. Younger brother of the politician and former mayor of Kharkiv Mikhail Dobkin.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Kharkiv. In 2002, he graduated from Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs (specialization - law, qualification - lawyer).

Career. 1991-1992 - Seller of the production cooperative Progress-90.

1995-2000 - General Director of LLC 'Uktorginvest'.

2001-2002 - General Director of LLC 'Nika'.

2002-2004 - General Director of LLC 'Orbita Plus'.

Since 2001, he has been the president of the city public organization of bears from Kharkiv.

Since March 2006, he has been a deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council, a member of the budget committee.

From December 2012 to November 2014 - Deputy of the VII convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, nominated by the Party of Regions in single-mandate district No. 178 in Kharkiv Oblast. Member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on State Building and Local Self-Government.

He is a shareholder (10.98%) of the 'Golden Gates' bank (Kharkiv).

He was a member of the Party of Regions.

On January 16, 2014, he voted for the 'Dictator Laws' - a package of anti-democratic laws that significantly restricted citizens' rights and freedom of speech.

In the autumn of 2014, he was elected as a self-nominated member to the Verkhovna Rada in the snap elections. Member of the Opposition Bloc faction.

Scandals. In November 2016, Dobkin Jr. got into a scandal when journalists noted how he allegedly ordered a tour worth €135,000 during a session of the Rada. In a popular video, the deputy behaves quite strangely after retreating behind a column, as if he is drinking something. Dobkin himself claimed at that time that he consumed nothing and that his behavior was caused by 'neurological problems'.

Family. His older brother Dobkin - Mikhail Dobkin, also a deputy of the VIII convocation, former head of the Kharkiv regional administration.
