Wladimir Filenko - Ukrainian politician, member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the I, III, IV, and VI. convocation, 'field commander' of the Orange Revolution 2004.

Place of Birth. Education. Born in Shelyudovka, Zmiyiv District, Kharkiv Region. Graduated in 1977 from the Kharkiv State University named after Gorky with a major in History. 1990 - graduated from the Kharkiv Agricultural Institute with a major in Economics and Organization of Agriculture.

Career. 1977-1979 - History teacher at the secondary school in Krasnooskolsk, Kharkiv Region.

1979-1982 - Instructor, second secretary of the Zmiyiv District Committee of the Communist Youth League.

1984-1990, after military service as deputy company commander of a political department - advisor to the political education cabinet of the District Committee of the Party of Ukraine, secretary of the party committee of the state Gagarin agricultural enterprise in his hometown of Shelyudovka.

1990-1994 - People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the I. convocation, secretary of the Human Rights Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, faction leader of the Demplatform.

Since 1990 - co-chairman and since 1992 chairman of the Democratic Revival Party of Ukraine. 1992-1993 - chairman of the New Ukraine Union. 1996-1999 - first deputy chairman of the People's Democratic Party, head of the NDP secretariat.

1997-1999 - advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Pustovoytenko.

1998-2002 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the III. convocation from the NDP, member of the Judicial Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, member of the parliamentary faction of the party Reforma i Poriadok - Reform Congress. Since 1999 deputy chairman of the Reforma i Poriadok party Viktor Pinsenyk. Was a member of the National Rescue Forum Council, which opposed the regime of President Leonid Kuchma.

2002-2006 - People's Deputy of Ukraine of the IV. convocation from Viktor Yushchenko's Block Our Ukraine, member of the Judicial Committee of the Verkhovna Rada. During the 'Orange Revolution' Filenko was one of the 'field commanders' of the Maidan.

During the 2006 election campaign - head of the Central Staff of the PORA-PRP Block. The block could not overcome the 3% barrier.

In the early elections of 2007, PRP joined the government as part of Yulia Tymoshenko's block, and Filenko received a deputy mandate for the fourth time. In the VI. convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, he was a member of the Justice Committee.

In 2015, he was a member of the competition commission for the selection of candidates for administrative positions in the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (on the quota of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine).

From January 2015 to August 2021 - advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Awards. Order 'For Merit' III class (1997).

Family. Married. Wife Olga Vasilievna (born 1959) - accountant. Daughter Irina (born 1979, lawyer) and son Yaroslav (born 1982, graduate of the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev).
